A Time to Say Thanks
Visitors to Hour Children often comment on the hospitality they experience when coming through our doors. Hospitality is an integral part of our work. We take joy in welcoming friends, clients, and neighbors, and we take pride in creating spaces for them that are inviting, beautiful, and clean…spaces that affirm human dignity and that all can enjoy!
This task is faithfully carried out each day by the members of Hour Maintenance Team – Sister Katie Sitja y Balbastro, Cesar Colindres, Socorro Agudelo, Jon Diaz, and Kenneth Gibbs. The team addresses the daily needs of our eighteen locations across Queens that include apartment buildings, houses, offices, thrift shops, gardens, and a warehouse. They are on the spot to deal with any emergency that may arise – a leaky roof, a broken appliance, or a snowy side walk in need of shoveling. They have even been known to take on multi-faceted construction projects from start to finish!
Skilled and dedicated, Hour Maintenance Team supports the life-changing work of our houses and community-based programs. For all their efforts done lovingly each day, we thank them!
