Hour Teen Scene
Hour Teen Scene provides enrichment and support for young people, ages 12 through 18 from Hour Children and the wider community. A “positive community for positive young people,” they help one another navigate the challenges of adolescence and build lasting friendships.
Prior to the onset of COVID-19, teens came together for food, activities, and conversation. Now, teens meet online for workshops and to join in conversation. In 2020, 100% of teens remained enrolled in school, avoided involvement with the criminal justice system, avoided gang involvement, and avoided teen parenthood.
The video above introduces you to Micah White, an alum of Hour Teen Scene. Micah recounts her valuable time with Hour Children, and how she credits the Hour Teen Scene program with helping her get to where she is today – a college sophomore and a role model for her peers in the program.
