Hour Community Food Pantry

Hour Community Food Pantry meets the needs of struggling individuals and families for emergency food resources across Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

The pandemic continues to have a devastating impact on the families and individuals in our community. We see it in the faces of those who wait on the line at our food pantry – too many new faces, and way too many old faces. We see it in the numbers – from 225 people per week pre-COVID to an average over 650 people per week since March. Hour Children staff and volunteers have worked throughout the pandemic to provide pre-packaged food baskets, fresh produce, diapers, and hygiene products to reduce the amount of physical contact.

Watch the video below that introduces you to Anne Long, a new face to Hour Community Food Pantry who lost her job because of the pandemic. And, amazingly, she finds a way to share her portion by cooking for her neighbors and finds a new career opportunity as a caterer in the process.
