Hour Working Women Program (HWWP)
HWWP is a comprehensive employment training program focusing in areas like Basic Office Skills & Computer Training, Retail & Marketing, and in Building Maintenance. Hour Working Women work in Hour Children’s thrift shops, food pantry, after school and in our mentoring programs. All women participate in classes and seminars and their on-the-job training provides them with a small stipend so they have the opportunity to learn how to budget. Because the women in this program come from chronic unemployment, many times they are unfamiliar with office protocol and work procedures. As a result, we have developed a curriculum that meets the needs of the students and prepares them for todays workforce. Classes include:
- Customer Service
- Behavior, Ethics, Dress in the Workplace
- Resume Writing
- Interviewing Skills
- Money Management
- Choice Theory
- Conflict Resolution or “How to Get Along with your Peers”
- Appropriate Dress & Behavior in the Workplace
- Bi-Weekly seminars regarding issues that arise in the workplace
HWWP has partnered with Bottomless Closet to professional clothing for our women as they look for employment. Please click here to learn more about Bottomless Closet in their Winter Newsletter featuring our working woman Mia.

The women in HWWP are trained, hard working, ambitious, high quality employees and they only need a second chance. Their past is over and they are now head of household, raising healthy children, completely sober and have drastically changed the course of their lives. You will not be disappointed giving our women a chance as they will prove to be your most reliable and hardest employee.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to learn of your employment needs. Then, Hour Children can match your needs with one of our candidates who has been trained and is eager for employment. I would be happy to meet with you so we can discuss the details of my program and potential candidates that you can hire. I assure you, your time will not be wasted.
Deloitte hosts its 3rd annual HWWP Impact Day, where professionals speak with the women about reintegrating into the workforce.
Women have been trained in the following areas:
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant, Computer Skills proficient in Microsoft Office, Data Entry, Marketing and Sales, Housekeeping, and Building Maintenance.
