The thrift shops have become a local meeting place for the community volunteers who come in to paint, clean, help sort merchandise and fill the shelves.

We accept a wide range of in-kind donations including all types of new items for infants and "almost new" clothing, linens, household items, toys and games. The shops serve as a resource for the local community as well as our families who rely on these donations to clothe their children and themselves. Women also take advantage of our low prices in the furniture shop when they move on to independent living and permanent housing. The donations also help to furnish Hour Children’s five residences.

The thrift shops are also our training ground for Hour Working Women Program, where women receive on-the-job training and learn all aspects of retailing, marketing, inventory maintenance and control, and customer relations.
Hour Children is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization and your donation is tax deductible. Our IRS Form 990 is available for review at www.guidestar.org.
