Volunteers Make A Difference
Sr. Tesa with a group of voluteeers helping with My Mother’s House
“When I came to Hour Children, it is the first time that I saw people unconditionally caring for others. And I thought to myself: it is actually possible! It is the first time that I encountered such love. It made me think that there is more to life than financial and professional success. It changed the way I viewed my relationships to others. I told Sister Tesa, ‘You will not be able to get rid of me.’ I have been volunteering with Hour Children ever since.”

Hour Children has been a magnet for a deeply committed and diverse volunteer corps and is grateful for their love and support. More than 120 volunteers provide core services to the organization, both in prison and in the community, enabling Hour Children to limit full-time staff to about 25.
